VOLUNTEERS AT SCHOOL

​At Fundashon Bos di Hubentut, we are fortunate to have a team of volunteers who are passionate about our prevention programs.

We are currently seeking reliable volunteers who are available in the mornings to visit schools for our programs. Prior to going into schools, all volunteers receive comprehensive training. Having a background in social work is a plus. Upon completing the training, you will receive a certificate. We ask for a commitment of at least one full school year from our volunteers.

We have volunteer opportunities in primary and secondary education. In primary education, our programs cover grades 1 to 8. Volunteers for these programs should be available for 5 mornings each week, with varying hours from a few hours to a full morning. You will be teaching young children about protecting themselves against sexual harassment, raising awareness about different issues, and teaching them effective strategies to deal with these problems and establish boundaries against unwanted intimacy.

​For secondary education programs, the commitment is 10 full mornings. You will be teaching girls everything they need to become empowered young women, and boys everything they need to become healthy adult men.

In addition to our regular programs, volunteers can assist with various events throughout the year, such as:

• April: Child Abuse Prevention Month, featuring activities like the 'Rising to Protect Our Children' walk in Otrobanda.
• November: Month of the Rights of the Child
• Willemstad by Night
• Let's Talk: for parents with their teenager(s)
